Radford Swimming Club

Welcome to the Radford Swimming Club

Interested in joining our Swimming Club ?

Do you have a budding young swimmer who is enthusiastic about advancing their swimming? Whether they are just emerging from a learn to swim programme and want to gain more advanced skills or maybe they have already advanced but find limited training hours in their present programme? Then we can take your young athlete and help them progress and accomplish their goals.

With a range of water time from 2 hours for our splash squads up to 11 hours for our performance squad we could be the club for you.

Please browse through our Swimming section and check out our 'Route through Radford' page, our 'Training Timetable' page and our Group & Squad criteria guides.

Main pool swimmers can have up to 3 free taster sessions before you make a decision to join, click on the link and we will contact you to arrange your trial sessions and joining information.

The J C Dobb League is a friendly league aimed at our swimmers who don't always get a main team call up, with speeding tickets for individual and relay swims making it exciting for both swimmers and coaches alike and difficult ton many counts.  2019 saw us win 4 out of 5 galas and retain the trophy.  Well done to everyone who has competed this year and here's to the 2020 campaign.

2019 saw us have a successful Sports Centre League campaign with a very happy 3rd place finish overall after the 6 galas to strong teams from Sutton and Sherwood.  Well done everyone who has taken part.  The 2019 Division 1 league will contain

Sherwood, Sutton, Radford, Leander, Loughborough and we are this year joined by newly promoted Carlton Forum.  The league kicks off with round 1 on 8 February.

October saw the start of the Annual Club Championships take place with 2 out of the 4 galas completed.  So far the swims have been fabulous.  We have so far had 283 swims with 165 PBs and 83 County Qualifying times.  PLUS - ONE NEW CHAMPIONSHIP RECORD for Milli Moth in the 50 Backstroke!  Well done Milli.

We are delighted to announce that from late July you will see a new coach at our sessions.   Helen Silver is joining ourselves from Nova Centurion where she has Coached squads over a number of years and has a wealth of experience in developing all levels of junior swimmers. Many of you will have seen Helen on poolside at gala's and as a Level 3 Swim England Senior Swimming Coach, Helen joins ourselves solely as an addition to the current Coaching team and you will see her around over 3 to 4 days per week. Whilst she will be assisting the whole team, Helen will predominantly be coaching our younger swimmers which is fantastic opportunity for our junior swimmers. It’s a fantastic and natural addition to the current coaching team at the club and builds on the excellent year for us all. I am sure everyone will join us in welcoming Helen when you see her around at our sessions.Roll on Season 2019 to 2020.
